Preparatory academic year for foreign citizens

PREPARATORY ACADEMIC YEAR IN BULGARIAN AND ENGLISH FOR FOREIGN CITIZENS AT THE DEPARTMENT OF LANGUAGE TRAINING AND SPORTS, MEDICAL UNIVERSITY – SOFIA

In accordance with the Ordinance on the State Requirements for Admission of Students to the Higher Education Institutions of the Republic of Bulgaria (Section V, Art. 17), the Department of Language Training and Sports at the Medical University – Sofia conducts a preparatory course with a total of 1000 academic hours, distributed as follows:

First semester: General Bulgarian language / English language.

Second semester: Specialized Bulgarian language / English language; lectures in Biology in Bulgarian / English; lectures in Chemistry in Bulgarian / English.

In the English-language preparatory program, a Bulgarian Language Course for Socialization is included as an additional compulsory in-class activity.

Within 10 days after the end of the summer semester, an in-person written competitive combined exam is held in Bulgarian/English language, Biology, and Chemistry.

Those who successfully complete the course and pass the exam receive a certificate granting them the right to continue their studies at the Medical University – Sofia in the specialty of their choice, as indicated when submitting their documents to the Rectorate of MU–Sofia.
