Assoc. Prof. Nikola Georgiev, PhD
He completed his secondary education at the National Trade and Banking High School.
In the period 2005 – 2011 he acquired the educational and qualification degrees “Bachelor” and “Master” in the specialty “Public Health and Health Management” at the Faculty of Public Health “Prof. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD, DSc” of Medical University – Sofia.
His professional path in the field of public health began as a technical assistant in Health Insurance Fund in the period 2009-2013.
From 2013 till 2019 he was a Program assistant at Programs financed by the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in the Ministry of Health.
From 2015 until now he is part of the academic staff of the Faculty of Public Health “Prof. Tsekomir Vodenicharov, MD, DSc”, initially occupying the academic position of Assistant professor. After acquiring the Doctor degree and after a competition held in 2017 he is Chief assistant professor.
In 2019, he joined the team of the Department of Language Education, Medical Pedagogy and Sports in DEOS at the Medical University of Sofia.
Since the establishment of the Doctoral School at the Medical University – Sofia, he has been part of the lecturer team.
In 2021 he successfully completed education and acquired specialty in Healthcare Economics at the Medical University – Sofia.
In 2022 after a competition, he acquired the academic title of Associate Professor.
Since 2023, he has been the Head of the Department of language education, medical pedagogy and sports in DEOS at the Medical University of Sofia.
His main areas of scientific interests are: health management, communication psychology, managerial psychology, health promotion.
Author and co-author of more than 70 scientific publications in the field of public health and health management, including the monographs “The Challenge of Organizational Change” and “Managing Organizational Conflicts”.
Member of national scientific organizations like a “Bulgarian Scientific Society of Public Health”, “Scientific Society of Medical Education” and part of the Editorial board of the “Interdisciplinary Civic Academy”.
